Optics creates the FUTURE!
Optics is expected to break the limits of information processing in conventional electronics.
Photonics will improve the performance of computers and networks by harnessing potentials of photons -parallelism and bandwidth- with the help of optical nonlinear effects.
Quantum information technology, which makes use of the quantum nature of photons -coherence and entanglement-, will bring about a revolution in information technology by providing unconditionally secure communication and ultra-fast computation.
Our Laboratory will contribute to the progress of information technology by exploting nonlinear optics, quantum optics, and quantum information science.
